Math It Up (mathitup.com.au) is operated by Nicholas Senior ("we", "us", "our"), based in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you visit our website, contact us, create an account, or purchase a membership.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and apply similar standards for visitors from outside Australia.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us directly:

  • Contact form — first name, last name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message.

  • Account / membership — when you sign up (by email, Google, or Facebook), we collect your name and email address. If you use Google or Facebook to sign in, we receive the basic profile details those services share with us (typically name, email and profile photo) — never your Google or Facebook password.

  • Payment information — when you purchase a Personal Access or School Subscription membership, payment is processed through Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; this is handled directly by Stripe under PCI-DSS security standards. We keep a record of the transaction itself (date, amount, plan) for accounting purposes. See stripe.com/privacy for how Stripe handles this data.

  • School Subscriptions — we may also collect a school name and the names/emails of additional staff you authorise to access the membership.

Information collected automatically:

  • Standard website analytics from our platform (Wix) — pages visited, approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and referral source (e.g. that you arrived from YouTube or a search engine).

  • Cookies used to run the site, such as keeping you logged in and remembering your cart. See "Cookies" below.

  • Stripe, our payment processor, to handle transactions

  • Google and/or Meta (Facebook), only where you choose to sign in using those services

  • Our accountant/bookkeeper, for managing business finances

  • Any party we're legally required to disclose information to

We don't share your information with advertisers, and we don't allow third parties to use it for their own marketing.

By subscribing to Math It Up, you agree to access content solely for personal educational purposes. Sharing of account details or materials is prohibited and may result in cancellation of your membership. Your subscription grants you access to our video lessons and downloadable resources, which are for you and your students. Please ensure compliance with our terms for a seamless experience.

4. Cookies

Our website, hosted on Wix, uses cookies to run core features — keeping you logged into your membership and remembering your cart — and, where enabled, to understand site traffic. You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site, particularly the members area, may not work properly without them.

5. Where your information is stored

Because we use Wix as our website and membership platform, personal information may be stored and processed on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Wix maintains its own security and privacy safeguards for this — see wix.com/about/privacy for details on how they handle data on our behalf.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, relying on Wix's platform-level security — encryption in transit, secure hosting, and PCI-DSS-compliant payment processing. No online system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we limit what we collect and who can access it.

8. Children's privacy

Math It Up is a resource for teachers, tutors and parents — it is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website. Student examples referenced in lesson plans and resources are provided for teachers' own classroom use and aren't collected or stored by us.

9. Your rights and choices

You can ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct information that's inaccurate or out of date

  • Delete your account and associated personal information, subject to what we're legally required to retain (e.g. financial records)

  • Stop sending you marketing messages, at any time

Contact us using the details below to make any of these requests — we'll respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your personal information, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy

  • We don't currently send marketing emails. If we introduce updates about new lessons or resources in future, we'll only do so with your consent, and you'll be able to unsubscribe at any time

  • Understanding how visitors use the site so we can improve it

  • Meeting our legal, accounting and tax obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for anything unrelated to running Math It Up without asking you first.
